The perfect proposal doesn’t exist… or does it? If you are planning on proposing, there are so many things to consider. The location, the timing, the RING? Will you have a photographer capture the moment? Matt had me come and photograph his proposal to Emily, and here’s why I believe it was the perfect proposal.

If you found this article, it may be because you are planning on proposing! If so, congratulations! You’ve got this. Don’t be nervous, even though it’s one of the biggest moments of your entire life. I will tell you this, though, the way that you propose really does show how much thought you’re bringing into this relationship. Now that it has to be something big or elaborate, but it is important to show the person that you love that you are considering what you think they will want in your proposal.
One of my favorite things that I have seen for a proposal was this one from Emily and Matt. Matt reached out and told me he was planning on proposing to Emily, and he really wanted her to be surprised. They live close to Downtown Atlanta, and love to take Emily’s dog Walter on walks from their apartment around Ponce City Market. I loved that Matt also planned for their parents to be at a local restaurant so that they could celebrate soon after!
Matt had the perfect place picked out already, and he even considered that the morning of it was raining, so he made sure that the place is outdoors but covered. There were plenty of places for me to hide, so I was able to catch their proposal without being seen. We got some photos with just the engaged couple, and then Matt‘s parents and Emily‘s parents came out to celebrate with them with a champagne pop! It was absolutely beautiful and a day captured that they will never forget!
